We follow a course of study provided by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Key aspects of this program include the following:
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
Our Lady of Grace School follows the curriculum standards provided by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The standards in each subject area were written by AoB teachers from all of our schools under the guidance of the Department of Catholic Schools and in line with best practices in the field.
EARLY CHILDHOOD (Pre-Kindergarten)
Our learners are provided an exploratory program that centers on mastering the skills needed for success in school. Establishing routines and socio-emotional growth are key developmental stages for children at this age, and Our Lady of Grace seeks to infuse that process with an understanding of God’s love. Our Religion classes and Catholic Identity pass on the basics of the faith, including simple prayers. In Language Arts, students learn phonemic awareness and letter formation, while Math classes teach numeric awareness and application of simple math. In Social Studies, the basic units of culture and society are introduced, along with the roles they play. Science classes and STEM activities seek to foster student inquiry and a curiosity for the world around them. At all times, we seek to view our little ones as gifts from God who need to be nurtured and encouraged!
